Safdar Mir Urdu poet, journalist in English, where he uses the pen-name "Zeno "

Marion Molteno: Studied Urdu with Ralph Russell and now works with him on Urdu courses for English speakers; author of Teaching Britain's Community Languages (C1LT, 1986), and A Language in Common (Women's Press, 1987), a collection of stones based on her nine years' experience as an adult education worker with women from India and Pakistan; currently editing a collection of Ralph Russell's articles for publication.

Frances W. Pntchett: Teaches at Columbia University; has just finished two manuscripts: a translation, with an extensive introduction, of the Urdu romance of Ameer Hamza, and a translation of Intizar Husain's novel BastF.

Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi: Distinguished short story writer and poet; editor of FunOn', Director of Majlis Taraqqi-e Adab, Lahore.

Shakila Rafiq: Short story writer from Pakistan.

Stanley Rajiva: Teaches English at Dawson College, Montreal.
