BINODE BEHARI MUKHERJEE (1904-80), the distinguished artist, studied and later taught at Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan. His large output includes several murals, scrolls, gouaches and a number of drawings. Widely travelled, his vision covered an intimate knowledge of Indian, European and Far Eastern traditions, the latter being a unique distinction. He continued to draw, make collages and write on art even after his blindness in 1956. Satyajit Ray made a film on the artist called Inner Eye.
