ARUN KHOPKAR is a filmmaker, and lectures on film aesthetics at the Film & Television Institute of India, Pune, and other institutes in Bombay.

KETAN MEHTA is a filmmaker who has made the film 'Bhavni Bhavai'. He is working on another film, 'Garam Masala'.

ASHISH RAJADHYAKSHA is a film critic, and has written the book 'Ritwik Ghatak, A Return to the Epic5.

KUMAR SHAHANI is a filmmaker. He has made two feature films, 'Maya Darpan' and 'Tarang'.

GULAM MOHAMMED SHEIKH is a painter. He is Head of Painting Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda.

MADAN GOPAL SINGH is a research student at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, and is working on the history of Indian cinema.

J. P. S. UBEROI is Professor of Sociology at the Delhi University. He has written a book 'Science and Culture'.

OTHER PARTICIPANTS AYAPPA PANIKER is a poet and critic of repute in Malyalam.

NEELA KHOPKAR is a khayal singer of the Gwalior gharana, and a reputed critic and teacher of classical music.

RANBIR SINGH KALEKA is a young painter and is a teacher in the Delhi College of Art.

KALPANA SAHNI teaches Russian at the Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has edited a book on Lev Tolstoy.

ROMI KHOSLA is an architect and has written extensively on various aspects of architecture.

PARESH MEHTA is a filmipaker, and is now making a film on the tribal culture of the Rann of Kutch.

AMRIT GANGER is the organiser of Screen Unit, a film society in Bombay. RASHMI DORIASWAMI is studying at the Jawaharlal Nehru University.
