53 The resolution which was passed unanimously and without any discussion read (excerpt): ^Thc Federation invites Government's attention to the feeling of uncertainly... on account of the recent decision of Government to assume State control of the Imperial Bank of India and other associated banks. ... It is the considered opinion of the Federation that ..Government should start a separate bank without assuming control over the Imperial Bank." The 'considered opinion' was however arrived at with no discussion whatever, the proposer of the resolution, Sir Homi Mody, stating "...I do not propose to say a word in support of the resolution...".
