From the end of 1990 to the days of disintegration of Soviet sodalism, this was the only journal which presented before the readers various viewpoints on theoretical and practical issues, on dedsions of government and party, the problems of the economy, the solutions sought, the politico-economic atmosphere and so on. The entire subsection dealing with the period has been written on the basis of materials from this journal. Even sdentific economic journals of repute like 'Planovoe khoziaistvo' and 'Voprosy eknomiki9 were completely inadequate for the purpose.
