Marx's mathematical manuscripts are primarily devoted to I describing and explaining the nature and history of the differential calculus. However, these will be of interest to the contemporary investigators of the symbolic calculi of mathematics and logic, of sign systems in general and, to any one interested in the history of ideas.

The special supplement to this volume contains materials, pertaining to the task of situating Marx's mathematical investigations in the history and structure of Marxism, mathematical thought and, ideas in general, as well as those, which may help to formulate strategies for future investigations.
