I. Professor (1 each) in (a) International Relations (b) Social & Political History (c) Economic Cooperation. II. Asstt. Professor (1 each) in the said subjects (equiv. to Reader's position) Qualification: As prescribed by UGC for similar posts with consistently good academic performance at all stages plus formal evidence of research/published work of high standard in the prescribed thrust area indicated below: a. Current trends in regional peace and cooperation, particularly in the context of the new economic agenda of West Bengal, with due emphasis on pre- and post-colonial linkages. b. Syncretistic tradition in religion in South Asia c. INA and its impact on transfer of power to India. N.B. 1. Candidates should hold Master's degree with Honours in International Relations/Pol. Science/History for (a) Political Science/History/Sociology for (b) and Economics for (c) 2. Selection need not be restricted to those who formally apply. 3. Selected candidates will have to work for time-bound projects having direct bearing on the prescribed thrust area. 4. For the post of Professor, probation will be as per rules of the Institute.
