Sec id! Scientist seeks to promote vigorous discussion on theoretical and intellectual problems confronting the Indian progressive democratic movement. The object of the discussion will be to contribute to the crystallisation of a complex of ideas that will enable the progressive democratic movement to gain a scientific perspective in its current searchings for a socialist alternative.

Sonaf Scientist will publish results of research conducted in areas like economics, history, sociology, political science, literature, art, etc. by recognised experts and talented new-comers. It will also examine the implications of the scientific and technological revolution for social questions.

Soaa! Scie?ifist will interpret and evaluate major events and significant trends of thought in India ^.h^ Uabroad relevant to the task of fostering scientKip socialist outlook among the intelligentsia.

Soc i a! Scientist will mercilessly expose and combat the forces that seek to disorient and retard the progress of Indian democratic movement by spreading pernicious ideas and attitudes in the name of science and socialism.

Soc 'a! Scientist will seek to subvert the pseudo-scientific and sham left establishment in the realm of ideology and culture.

Social Scientist will endeavour to instil in the reader a sense of personal intellectual commitment to and involvement in the process of the radicalisation of our people, an essential pre-requisite of socialist transformation.
