3 8 Ibid., pp 67-68: B T Ranadive in his Report on Reformist Deviation presented at the Second Congress of the C P I in 1948, states that ^the communal problem was also linked up with the problem of nationalities" (which is not theoretical purism) and ^one of the main levers to build the revolutionary unity of our people.'^ The importance of not falling into the two-category trap of the ruling classes and imperialism is further stressed in this report (See M B Rao (ed») Documents of the History of the Communist Party of India, 1976, vol VII., pp 167-177.
