On the whole, this book is quite interesting and well worth reading. It is clear that there are specific points on which one can disagree with the authors. Nonetheless, it is im port-ant to point out the relationship between the poverty of the vast majority of the people and the basic socio-economic structure, as well as the fact that only through the fundamental transformation of the structure can the poor hope to escape their present destiny.
