[Japanese radio station]
Photographer Glenn S. Hensley
Date 1945
Subject war damage; business district; commerce; residential district; merchant; Chinese
Notes " We were told this has been the home of one of the wealthiest Chinese merchants in Rangoon. It certainly was owned by someone with money. It had been used by the Japanese as a radio station. Some equipment remained inside. With the exception of some militarily vandalism on the walls, the structure seemed to be in good condition. Earth walls outside were to offer a measure of protection from attack. ""Foxholes"" and gun emplacements are visible on the front lawn in r23. "
Location "Rangoon, Burma"
Original negative held yes
