   आविधः āvidhaḥ [आ-व्यध्-घञर्थे-क] An awl; drill.

   आव्रश्च् āvraśc 6 P. To tear off, cut off; यो अस्याः कर्णावास्कुनो- त्या स देवेषु वृश्चते Av.12.4.6; tear in pieces, interrupt.

   आव्रश्चनम् āvraścanam 1 Cutting or tearing off. -2 The stump of a tree (Ved).

   आश āśa a. One who eats, eater (mostly as the last member of comp.); e. g. हुताश, आश्रयाश &c. &c. -शः [अश्-घञ्] Eating (as in प्रातराश); पिशिताशदोषः Rām.5.5.8.

   आशयितृ āśayitṛ a. 1 Feeding, a feeder. -2 Protecting.

   आशितंगवीन āśitaṅgavīna a. [आशिता अशनेन तृप्ता गावो यत्र, खञ् निपातनात् मुम्] Formerly grazed by cattle.

   आशितंभव āśitambhava a. [आशितोऽशनेन तृप्तो भवत्यनेन P.III.2.45] Satiating, satisfying (as food). -वम् 1 Food which produces satisfaction when eaten or enjoyed; आशितंभवं यद् द्रव्यं सा भूतिः सा दक्षिणा । ŚB. on MS.10.3.45, victuals. -2 Satisfaction, satiety (m. also); फलैर्येष्वाशितंभवम् Bk. 4.11; also आशितंभवमुत्कृष्टं वल्गितं शयितं स्थितम् Bk.6.106.
