చిలువ [Tel. చిలుము (= విషము)+వాయి.] n. A snake, విషధరము. కొండచిలువ a rock snake or python. A sluggard. చిలువ దొర or చిలువరేడు chiluva-dora. n. The chief of the serpent race: the Great Dragon. శేషుడు. చిలువగుదియ chiluva-gudiya. n. A sort of snake. G. vi. 101.

   చిలువాయనము [Tel.] n. Meanness, baseness. చిల్లర, క్షుద్రము.

   చిలువాలు [Tel. చిలుప+పాలు] n. Milk boiled till it thickens. మరగగాచిన చిక్కనిపాలు. A. i. 91. See చిలుప.

   చిల్ల [Tel.] n. The barb of an arrow or fishhook. A bone. శల్యము. A bit, a fragment. M. 12. 2. 430. adj. Empty, trifling, useless. చిల్లపెంకు a potsherd. "చిల్లతైలము" = ఇందుగవగరు. A. iv. 36. చిల్లచెవులు ears that are empty, that is, unadorned with earrings. చిల్లకోల or చిళ్లకోల chilla-kōla. n. A whip with several lashes. తోమరము. A pitchfork. చిల్లచండ్లావు a cow, the ends of whose teats are forked. చిల్ల జగడము a vain dispute, a quarrel about nothing.

   చిల్లంగి [Tel.] adj. Mischievous. చిల్లంగిగొండి a quarrelsome person కలహకారి. చిల్లంగిగొండితనము mischievousness, disobedience, misbehaviour. చిల్లంగిచేతలు. (G. iv. 21.) tricks, frauds చిల్లంగిపోతు chillangi-pōtu. n. A wizard, a witch.

   చిల్లగింజ [Tel.] n. The clearing-nut, Strychnos potatorum. Ainslie. ii. 420. Rox. i. 576.

   చిల్లగొండి or చిల్లంగొండి Same as చిల్లంగి గొండి. q. v.

   చిల్లర [Tel.] adj. Retail, as a shop. Miscellaneous, sundry, stray, trifling, mean, of no note or importance, subordinate. Vile, base. చిల్లరవాండ్లు a mixed multitude, people of no consequence. చిల్లరనేబులు loose money, change. పదిరూపాయల పైచిల్లర ten rupees and odd. చిల్లరపూజ vain homage, empty adoration చిల్లరభ్రాంతులు empty fancies. చిల్లరవేల్పులు inferior deities. చిల్లరలు chillaralu. (Plu.) Sundries, odds and ends.

   చిల్లాకు [Tel.] n. A kind of forest tree the leaves of which form a manure.

   చిల్లాడము or చిల్లాణము [Tel.] n. A small dagger చిల్లాణము. మొలవంకి. Anir. iv. 39.

   చిల్లాడిపోవు [Tel.] v. n. To fly, to be scattered or routed.

   చిల్లి [Tel.] n. A small hole, a perforation, a fissure, an opening or cleft. తూటు. చిల్లులుపోవు chillulu-pōru. v. n. To go into holes, i.e., be perforated or be worn out. చిల్లులుపోయిన ragged, worn out.

   చిళ్ల [Tel.] adj. Bifurcated, forked, double pointed. చిళ్లు chiḷḷu. n. A fork, as that formed by two branches.

   చివచివ. [Tel.] adv. (anuk.) Briskly, all at once. Quicker and quicker. Slippery. చివచివలాడు to be slippery (as land after rain.) నా కాళ్లు చివచివతీసుకొనిపోతున్నవి my legs ache.

   చివర [Tel.] n. The end, tip, extremity or point. adj. Last, final. ఊరిచివర at the end of the village. చిట్టచివర at the very end. చివరలు chivaralu. n. plu. Ends. Bits, fragments, shivers, odds.

   చివాలున [Tel.] adv. Suddenly. హటాత్తుగా.

   చివుక [Tel.] n. A quarter rupee. చివుకపిట్ట chivuka-piṭṭa. n. A kind of bat. ఒక విధమైన గబ్బిలము.
