लड्डू laḍḍū [laḍḍuka-1], m. 1. a sweet consisting of balls of gram-flour, or of thickened milk, with sugar, saffron and other ingredients. 2. fig. benefit, gain. — खिलाना (को), to feast (one). बँटना, laḍḍūs to be distributed; to be advantaged. बनाना, or बाँधना, to make laḍḍūs (of, का). बाँटना, to distribute laḍḍūs (among, में); to celebrate a piece of good luck. मिलना, fig. to be well treated; = बँटना, 2. ठग के ~ खा बैठना, fig. to eat drugged laḍḍūs: to be taken in or deceived (with serious consequences). मन के ~ खाना, or फोड़ना, fig. to build castles in the air.
